Why You Shouldn’t Do What You Don’t Want To Do!

Today, I woke up to a message on my phone. People send me all kinds of messages.  Angel readings, bicycle cards, photographs, art images, poems. I love you all so much because you are truly a community and you teach me so much that I never would expect!  I thank you a zillion times over.  Today’s message was from a friend.  It was a recording.

The name of the recording was:  Discernment.

According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, this is what it means:

“…the ability to see and understand people, things, or stituations clearly and intelligently.”

Today’s bit of expansive design is all about this idea of  seeing things clearly.

Consider it a validation of why you should not do things you don’t want to do!

Doreen Virtue was speaking on the recording.  She said that angels told her that when she didn’t want to do things she shouldn’t do them.

I could feel myself resisting this.  But I listened.  Bob was in the car next to me and even he seemed excited.  The next part was the part that really got me.

If you do what you don’t want to do you will bring negative energy to what you are creating and the outcome will not be good.

Now, this set off fireworks.

She explained: you’ll bring negative energy to your food, negative energy to your house, negative energy everywhere….

Looking at my day today, this is true.   I didn’t want to get up early.  If I had let myself sleep more, the dogs would not have run through wet paint and trailed it everywhere.  I didn’t want to take Bob to the bank.  If I hadn’t taken him in with me, I would not have had a run in with the parking officer who was cruel (I’m being kind) and set my day into bad way.

But… how do you get things done if you only do what you want to do?

I thought back to the times when things fall into place with flow.

When things go right, I realize I’m in a place where I’m super-excited to overcome obstacles.

Do you know what I mean?  It’s like you’re psyched to overcome.  Ready to break through.  Even fed up but thrilled to pur energy and attention into totally taking care of a problem.

In that frame of mind, I am incredibly excited to clear things away that don’t belong.  I’m happy to make the hard phone calls, have the unpleasant meetings, get up earlier than I may have liked yet loved it because I was ready to do something…

Because… I had discernment. I could see my situation clearly and intelligently and understood the benefits of even doing things like house-cleaning and making hard decisions and figuring out complex technology. If the outcome of doing something was going to be very cool, somehow I managed to get excited about it.

Do you know what I mean?

Isn’t it so much easier to do things when you want to do them?!

Idea for the day: clear aside everything you feel like you are forcing yourself to do.  Just focus on feeling great.

Later, or tomorrow, take a look at your to-do list or calendar and see all the things you have to do that are coming up.  If you keep these things in your head or scattered… Start a calendar!  It will revolutionize your mood!

Next to the things that you’d rather eat glass than actually do (!), jot down a note about the benefit of doing it.  When the day comes to do those crappy things we all have to do, I bet you’ll want to do it much more.  And if you don’t want to do it… well… trust yourself to do the right thing!

It’s far better to do things you want to do rather than halfway-doing a bunch of stuff that you are barely doing right because you’re forcing them.

Less force, more flow!

I’ve been engaged in a massive decluttering of my flat for a month. Yes, admittedly this is the beginning of week four. On days when I didn’t want to purge the junk, I didn’t and on the days I wanted to, I made so much progress!!! And, I’m done for today! It’s so true that you really need to feel it (not matter what you call it) “in your heart/gut/soul” or it is truly isn’t right. Discernment is about hearing that quiet voice that is guiding you to what is truly right! Love this post 🙂
