So Much Love For A Good Multicolored Rug!

Feng shui color theory can get murky at times, especially when an area is “supposed to be” one color per the ancient texts, yet your home just can’t handle a black entranceway or a purple kitchen.  While the classics are always grounding my design work, I have left those hard and fast color rules in the dust a long time ago.

That’s when I discovered brilliance like the multicolored rug.

The multicolored has nearly every “wave” of color mixed within it.  As such a dynamic whole, there is energy flying off to stimulate just about every area of your room or whole home at once!

And… multicolored rugs seem to, in their mixed up way, become neutral for all their color.  You can layer them, hang them on walls, or fit them side my side in mismatched glory without ever having to worry about whether or not they “go” together.

Since these rugs in particular had me swooning, I had to share. Try an Etsy search to pull up handfulls of great ones from all over the world.  Mine your local Craigslist (*I only visit people to see their stuff with friends tagging along, and I think that’s a good policy!)  as well as the vintage shops near you- these fabulous rugs are best when they are like we are— one-of-a-kind!
