An Invaluable Exercise In Self Awareness!

How are you doing today?

I bet you were about to say “OK “or “Fine. ” But you are way more than OK or Fine. Of course, we just say these things out of convention.

Truly: how are you doing today?

Rather than stuffing your feeling away so that they can bubble up later in ways you didn’t suspect, here’s a wildly effective exercise in self-awareness that can bring lots of feelings to the surface. Your body will let you know how you are doing.

Your body knows things, trust what it tells you. It can shine a lot of light on things you have not been confronting in your life.  It can signal change.

Once you can see what’s happening, you can stretch, run, meditate, sing, dance, talk, cry, or write it out of you if you aren’t thrilled by how you are doing at the moment.  And, if you are really truly excellent right now, you can celebrate it, rather that taking it for granted.  Awareness- mindfulness- is a powerful state of being.
