It is endlessly fascinating that the notion of our own personal “glowing field” of energy- not just within us but surrounding us, is being measured and discovered to be a real thing. You can feel the energy of certain people; you can see the energy around certain people. When you are excited and grounded and happy people will tell you that you glow. You actually DO glow, at least that’s what has now been measured as a fact. Lets take a look at ways that the glow of energy that surrounds us may affect our wellness and impact our world…and explore a few ideas to increase that glow!!!
The notion that we are surrounded by an energy field is accepted in New Age philosophy, but that’s about as far as it goes. There are medical intuitives and other spiritualists who claim to read auras and see what is affecting a person energetically, emotionally and physically based on the color, size and shape of their glow.
Science and medicine are actually getting keen on different colors and forms of light for their therapeutic value. Light therapy has been used to treat depression, different colored lights have been specially designed and formulated to treat skin that has various issues and light exposure has been proven to affect our sleep rhythms.
It was THIS article by Mercola that peaked my interest about light and our “glow” as it relates to all of life. It explains a bit about the actually measured ‘biophoton’ field that surrounds us and how that field of energy influences our bodies. This biophoton field is hypothesized to have an effect on our actual health and the way that our genes are expressed:
“Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt discusses this field in The Five Levels of Healing, which is based on a healing model developed some 12,000 years ago. This energetic model for health has influenced Tibetan medicine, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and Ayurvedic medicine as well.
The existence of the biophoton field was scientifically proven by Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp in 1974.
Your physical health is dependent not only on what goes on inside of your body, but is also interconnected with and dependent on other non-physical levels of energy, such as the energy surrounding your body, called the biophoton field.
In highly simplistic terms, your biophoton field can be viewed as a highly sophisticated computer that processes, stores and retrieves information that is then used to regulate your biological processes.
It is known in biology that every cell in your body has over 100,000 biochemical reactions per second, all of which must be carefully timed and sequenced with each other. Many (mostly European) scientists have investigated the organizing principle behind this sophisticated dance.
Dr. Popp also proved that biophotons originate from your DNA and that they are laser-like in nature. He developed the biophoton theory to explain their biological role and the ways in which they help control your biochemical processes.
This is quite an awesome idea. MIT researchers have shown that on the “biophotonic” level, photons may be able to communicate with one another over distances, syncing up processes with one another even when isolated from each other. that means that this biophotonic field is super dynamic and perhaps “telepathic” in a sense that is mega mind-blowing!
What does all of this mean to you? Light is vital to life, beauty and happiness, so it may be worth exploring various ways to increase your overall radiance and “glow.”
Some fun ways to boost your radiance:
- Per Dr. Mercola, eat more live food that has been sun-ripened.
- Use natural and organic lotions and beauty products. I can honesty say my energy has increased dramatically by switching from “commercial” lotions to raw coconut oil as a body lotion and very high vibration (wonderful botanical aromatherapy) skincare.

- Wake up early and spend more time outside.
